The band's rehearsal and performance season begins in September and finishes with our summer concert season at the end of July. New members are welcome during September and January every year, with exceptions for instrumentation required for musical balance. We ask that new members be in attendance for three weeks prior to participating in a performance.

Rehearsals are held weekly on Monday evenings from 7:15 PM to 9:15 PM at John Paul II High School located at 900 Coit Rd Plano, TX 75075-5811 in the band hall.

There are no auditions required to join the band. The band requests that all prospective new members have the ability to play the level of band literature we are rehearsing, but we extend our welcome to any adult musician who wants a place to play! We invite you to join us for up to three weeks to help you determine whether you would like to join us as a member. Should you decide to join at that point, then dues are payable.

High school students are accepted at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Plano Community Band as instrumentation needs dictate for musical balance.

At the present time we are not accepting additions to the following instrumentation:

   Trumpets
   Flutes
   Clarinets
   Bass Clarinets
   All Saxophones

We want you in the Plano Community Band. However our primary goal is to get you back into music. If you have discussed our instrumentation dilemma with our Section Organizers and/or Conductors you may want to visit some of the bands listed on the page related links in the chance we are simply overwhelmed by instrumentation problems that would prevent you from playing immediately.
