How to help the
Plano Community Band

We wish to thank the many generous sponsors of the 2010 Association of Concert Bands Convention whose donations allowed us to bring four evenings of fine concert band music to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and to continue to support the operation of the Plano Community Band.

We would like to continue to provide FREE concerts with special guest artists, and this requires help from our Friends. Please read on to find out how you can become a Friend of the Plano Community Band.

Fundraisers

The Plano Community Band is partnering with Barnes & Noble for another Bookfair to raise operating funds for the band. Please mark your calendar for this event. A percentage of your purchase will go to the band. This is an easy way to help the band while you shop.

Other fundraisers include sale of water bottles at summer concerts in the park, occasional merchandise sale such as T-shirt or cool wraps, and we gratefully accept any cash donation in the donation jar at our concerts.

Donating to the Band

The Plano Community Band is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. Each year, the band brings music to the citizens of Collin County with five summer concerts at Haggard Park in downtown Plano as well as formal indoor concerts in the spring and fall. The concerts feature a wide variety of wind band music themed for family audiences. We also perform at various official City of Plano events and for members of the Plano Senior Center.

The band continues to gain national attention. We performed at the Association of Concert Band's (ACB) national conventions in Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 2004 and in Pensacola, Florida in 2007. The national recognition increased as we hosted the 2010 ACB convention with great success, drawing audiences exceeding 2,500 to hear seven performing bands during four evenings of free concerts.

The Plano Community Band needs your help. As a non-profit organization we rely on donations from the City of Plano, the City of Richardson (for our Eisemann concerts), corporations, and individuals to cover our operating expenses. Rehearsal space, music, and moving equipment between performance venues are some of the expenses we incur. We invite you to help us by becoming a Friend of the Plano Community Band

We offer several different Friend of the Plano Community Band donation levels. All donations are tax deductible and donors will be appropriately recognized. Please consider becoming a Friend of the Plano Community Band and help bring fine family music to Plano and the surrounding communities.
